 Tribute song "Lexi Danced"

Luke's tribute song "Lexi Danced" was writen for Alexa Marie Shank's parents, Chris & Dana...and her brother, Connor. Luke sang it for the first time at a memorial concert for Lexi (Oct. 13, 2006) after her death on September 29, 2006. Lexi battled leukemia for 4 years and she was age 10 at the time of her death.

The song is about the night that Lexi danced (May 20, 2006) in front of the stage with her friends while Luke was performing the blues song "I'll Tell You What You'll See" during a fundraiser for Lexi at the Artcraft Theatre in Franklin, IN.

The "Lexi Danced" song became one of  three songs on a CD of the same name that was released February 21, 2007 (Lexi's Birthday). This song was selected as a top song for Faith, Hope & Love International's 2007 compilation CD titled "Breathe." Luke also added a live/studio version of the song on his New 2007 CD "Love, War & Metaphor."

The song was in the top 20 on the Indieheaven radio charts in 2007 and on January 6, 2008 reached #1 on the IH Fan Faves Blues Chart and #17 in the overall chart (i.e., all genres).

Lexi's faith, joy and strength continue to inspire people.

But those songs that are mentioned here are the songs that are written for those people who are now in Heaven.
